Anche se non siete mai stati a New York, potete immaginare quanti locali e ristoranti si susseguono sulle tantissime strade della grande mela.

Ce ne sono per tutti i gusti e di tutte le etnie, per questo motivo non bisogna arrivare a New York impreparati, ed andare subito a colpo sicuro.

In questo post indicheremo i 3 luoghi che ci sono piaciuti di più nel nostro viaggio a Ny.

There's something for everyone, for this reason you should not get to New York City unprepared, you need to know where to go since the first day. In this post we will describe the 3 places that we liked more in our trip to NY.

Non si può andare negli Stati Uniti e non mangiare un Hamburger. Prima di partire ci eravamo informati su quali fossero i posti migliori per poterne mangiare uno dei migliori di Ny.

La scelta è caduta su J.G. Melon. Questo tipico bar è all'interno di un edificio tutto colorato di verde ed è all'apparenza molto piccolo, ma è stato davvero una sorpresa. Non c'era mai capito di aspettare 20-25 minuti in piedi in un fast-food, ma il locale era pieno, e come abbiamo scoperto in seguito, ne valeva la pena.

Gli hamburgers di J.G. Melon (1291, Third Ave in zona Upper East Side) sono stati inseriti, con grande merito, nella lista dei 10 Hamburgers da mangiare prima di morire. Se andate a Ny non potete non passare di qui.

You can not go in the U.S. and do not eat a hamburger. Before leaving Italy we looked for what were the best places to eat one of the best hamburger, NY.

The choice fell on J.G. Melon. This bar is inside a building all colored green and is apparently very small, but it was really a surprise. We waited 20-25 minutes standing in a fast food restaurant, but the restaurant was full, and as we discovered later, it was worth it. The hamburgers of J.G. Melon (1291, Third Ave in the Upper East Side) have been added, with great merit, in the list of the 10 Hamburgers to eat before you die. If you go to NY you can not pass this way.

In una delle sere più fredde della nostra permanenza a Ny ci siamo ritrovati in uno dei ristoranti più caldi ed accoglienti della città: Balthazar.

Questo ristorante, in tipico stile Boulangerie francese, necessita di prenotazione. In mancanza di questa, preparatevi ad aspettare almeno 30 min in piedi o seduti al bancone del bar. Il menu era enorme e vario, da assaggiare anche qui gli Hamburger, ma la vera specialità della casa sono le ostriche (che potete vedere in esposizione sui bellissimi stand all'interno del locale).

Veramente consigliatissimo, questo bellissimo ristorante si trova al numero 80 di Spring Street.

In one of the coldest nights of our stay in Ny we found ourselves in one of the hottest and welcoming restaurants of the city: Balthazar. This restaurant, in a typical French Boulangerie, requires booking. Without this, be prepared to wait at least 30 minutes while standing or sitting at the bar. The menu was huge and varied, to be tasted the burgers here, but the real specialty of the house are the oysters (which you can see on the beautiful display stand inside the restaurant). Really recommended, this beautiful restaurant is located at 80 Spring Street.

Come terza scelta vogliamo consigliarvi un bar. Al termine dell'orario di ufficio, moltissimi professionisti si riuniscono al 18th Floor. Il particolare nome di questo curatissimo bar è dovuto alla sua particolare posizione, per l'appunto al 18esimo piano dello Standard Hotel in zona Meatpacking District al numero 848 di Washington Street.

Qui ci sono poche parole da spendere, il bar è circondato solo da vetrate e permette di bere un drink davanti ad una delle più belle viste di Manhattan.

As a third choice we recommend a bar. At the end of office hours, a lot of professionals go to 18th Floor. The unique name of this bar is kept due to its location, precisely on the 18th floor of the Standard Hotel in the Meatpacking District on 848 Washington Street.To spend a few words, the bar is surrounded only by windows and allows you to have a drink in front of one of the best views of Manhattan.

Nyc Museums

New York non è solo luci e spettacolo, è anche arte e cultura, la città soddisfa ogni tipo d'interesse.

Al numero 1000 della Fifth Avenue si trova il Metropolitan Museum. Un'imponente edificio situato sul lato est di Central Park.

All'interno del "Met" possiamo trovare più di 2 milioni di opere d'arte.

New York is not just lights and entertainment, is also art and culture, the city meet any kind of interest. The Metropolitan Museum is located at 1000, 5th Avenue. A massive building located on the east side of Central Park. Inside the "Met" we can find more than 2 million works of art.

All'11 West 53esima (tra la 5a e la 6a strada, zona Midtown Manhattan) strada troviamo uno dei musei più famosi di New York: il MoMa, Museo d'arte moderna.

L'interno del museo stesso è un'opera d'arte.

All'interno del museo, tra i vari artisti possiamo trovare: Van Gogh ed Andy Warhol.

11 West 53rd (between 5th and 6th Street, Midtown Manhattan) we find one of the most famous museums in New York: MoMA, Museum of Modern Art.The interior of the museum itself is a work of art.

Inside the museum, among other artists, we find: Van Gogh and Andy Warhol.

 

A metà di Central Park West (esattamente dall'altra lato di Central Park rispetto al Metropolitan) troviamo il bellissimo American Museum of Natural History, famoso per essere anche lo sfondo del famoso film "Una notte al Museo" con Ben Stiller.

All'interno dinosauri e ogni razza esistente o estinta di animali. Da vedere, in particolare, il salone della Balena.

In the middle of Central Park West (the opposite site of Metropolitan Museum) we find the beautiful American Museum of Natural History, famous for being the background of the famous movie "Night at the Museum" starring Ben Stiller. Inside the museum we can find dinosaurs and every every animal that ever existed.

Living Manatthan

La Grande Mela offre mille distrazioni e noi ce l'abbiamo messa tutta per non mancare neanche un appuntamento. Abbiamo corso la Maratona, visto una partita Nba dei New York Knicks e ci siamo fatti travolgere dall'incredibile spettacolo de "Il Re Leone" al Minskoff Theatre, tra le mille luci di Broadway.

The Big Apple offers a thousand distractions, and we have it tried hard not to miss even one appointment. We ran the Marathon, saw a New York Knicks NBA Game and we were overwhelmed by the incredible spectacle ​​of "The Lion King" at the Minskoff Theatre, among the bright lights of Broadway.

Inutile dire che tutti questi eventi non sono propriamente gratis purtroppo.. 

Se vorrete mai un giorno partecipare alla Maratona, l'iscrizione va fatta con un notevole anticipo (i pettorali finiscono in fretta) e più o meno, la spesa è di 300 euro.

Per quanto riguarda la partita Nba i prezzi variano chiaramente in base al posto che avete scelto all'interno del Madison Square Garden, si va da circa 30 dollari fino ad oltre i 1000 per i posti a bordo campo.

Per lo spettacolo a Broadway infine la spesa è di circa 100 dollari.

Ma con molta determinazione, e tanta voglia di camminare, si possono fare tranquillamente molte delle esperienze tipiche newyorkesi, esperienze che cercheremo di descrivervi con i prossimi post.


Unfortunately, despite the advice of travel agents, two weeks are very few to enjoy every aspect of this incredible city. Empire State of Mind

New York! Un progetto lungo un anno. 

Abbiamo visitato la Grande Mela nel mese di Novembre, nel periodo della famosissima Maratona.

Abbiamo alloggiato all'Hotel Hampton Inn Times Square South, un hotel di 19 piani al 337 West 39th Strada.

New York! A year-long project. We visited the Big Apple in November in the period of famous Marathon.We stayed at the Hampton Inn Times Square South Hotel, a 19-story hotel, 337 West 39th Street.

La città ti travolge con i suoi mille odori e rumori, è impossibile non guardare i maestosi grattacieli dello skyline newyorkese. Nonostante la metropolitana tocchi qualsiasi punto della città, il modo migliore per visitarla è farsi un bella passeggiata.

The city overcomes you with its thousands of smells and noise, it's impossible not to watch the majestic skyscrapers of New York skyline. Despite the underground touch any part of the city, the best way to see it make a nice walk.

Passeggiando a New York si ha la netta sensazione che girando l'angolo o cambiando incrocio, si possa trovare qualsiasi cosa. Inutile dire che un giro nel tipico Taxi newyorkese è d'obbligo.

While walking in New York you have the clear feeling that turning the corner, you can find anything. Needless to say, a typical taxi ride inNew York is a must.

Towers of power

Ultimo post su Londra.

Per finire la nostra splendida vacanza abbiamo voluto visitare i tre monumenti simbolo di Londra: House of Parliament con Big Ben, Tower Bridge e Tower of London.

Abbiamo visitato la mitica torre dell'orologio in una tipica giornata londinese, ma la pioggia non ci ha fermato, la visita al monumento dedicato a Santo Stefano non poteva certo mancare.

To end our wonderful holiday we wanted to visit the three landmarks of London: Houses of Parliament with Big Ben, Tower Bridge and Tower of London.

We visited the legendary clock tower in a typical London day, but the rain hasn't stopped us, we couldn't miss visiting the monument dedicated to Santo Stefano.

L'ultimo giorno abbiamo visitato il Tower Bridge e la Tower of London, si trovano lievemente fuori dal centro, e chiaramente sul fiume, ma una salto ad ammirare questi pezzi di storia londinese ne vale la fatica.

New Year's Day

La sera di capodanno i londinesi si raccolgono sulle sponde del Tamigi per assistere allo strabiliante spettacolo dei fuochi d'artificio. Il freddo era particolarmente pungente (tant'è che, quasi magicamente, allo scoccare della mezzanotte, Londra ha dato il benvenuto al nuovo anno con una abbondante nevicata), ma ne è valsa la pena, l'atmosfera era davvero unica.

On New Year's eve Londoners gather on the banks of the Thames to watch the amazing spectacle of fireworks. The cold was very pungent (infact, almost magically, at the stroke of midnight, London has welcomed the New Year with a heavy snowfall), but it was worth it, the atmosphere was truly unique.

I fuochi d'artificio sono iniziati allo scoccare della mezzanotte e sono durati a lungo. L'organizzazione è stata perfetta, soprattutto nel garantire la sicurezza delle persone in una situazione che era veramente caotica. The fireworks started at midnight and lasted a long time. The organization was perfect, especially in ensuring the safety of persons in a situation that was really chaotic. It 'was guaranteed a free transportation by subway, which was also continuously monitored by the police, so after a few minutes, we were able to return to the hotel without any problems.

Il primo gennaio non potete perdervi la parata su Regent Street. Tutte le scuole della città, bande musicali, associazioni, polizia e pompieri partecipano all'evento. Da segnalare, per gli amanti delle automobili, la parata delle mini minor.
